The Get Ahead Festival is an ongoing film series that encourages established and first time filmmakers to
create new work without direct economic incentive. The Festival takes place on the last Sunday of the
month, each time with a different venue and theme. The “End Times” event (9/27) at St. Cecilia’s Convent
in Greenpoint marked the end of the first cycle, which included the themes “Will Power” and “Cities”.
Currently, Get Ahead is planning the second progression of events, to start November the 22nd, as well
as a DVD release of the first wave’s greatest hits. For more information about attending or submitting

To Meyer, the 48 hour film making contest panel of judges, the film makers from all the other teams along with all of the Castlebraid staff:
Helena and I had an amazing experience thanks to you all! You provided this wonderful facility for us to use as our playground. This opportunity enabled us to create, develop and shoot “The Little Man That Could” and for that we are very, very thankful!

    Much love to you all,
    Jason, Helena and Diego Madera
